Garden railways are what we do. Indeed GardenRail is the only British magazine covering all aspects of outdoor model railways, and the only related magazine worldwide, that publishes monthly. Appearing regularly twelve times a year, it thus provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview,not only of the developments within the model trade, but also the seasonal joys of the garden.

Michael is a relatively recent convert to the larger model railway scales, and was initially attracted by the LGB French and Brawa Swiss models from about 2001. However, at the launch of the Welshpool & Llanfair model locomotives, during the 2008 Llanfair Garden Railway Exhibition, he was instantly convinced that live steam was the business – this particular suite of models offering such authenticity, quality and value for money.
Michael is an electrical engineer, a chartered physicist by profession, and has spent over 30 years proof reading and editing technical material. He was the modelling editor for a previous Atlantic Publishers journal – European Railways – and is delighted to become part of the GardenRail team.
